Our projects bring together clean water, food forests, regenerative agriculture, and education. We focus on schools and community groups so that every intervention benefits many households at once. Below are some of the key areas where we work with communities to restore ecosystems and improve livelihoods.
We drill boreholes and build water collection reservoirs that store rainwater from rooftops. In schools, we install tanks and animal water troughs just outside the compound so that learners, families, and livestock can access water safely and easily.
By shortening the distance to water, we reduce school dropouts, improve health, and free up time for children to learn. Clean water at school means clean water at home, and communities no longer have to walk miles for contaminated water.
In every place where we secure water, we establish food forests designed around seven layers of plants: overstory trees, understory trees, shrubs, herbs, root crops, ground covers, and vines. These layers work together to create a resilient, biodiverse system that provides fruits, vegetables, and herbs throughout the year.
We use syntropy, permaculture, drip irrigation, and swales to keep water in the soil and to build healthy, living landscapes. Students adopt gardens, grow vegetables in swales, and take part in caring for the forest. Vegetables are used in school meals, and surplus is taken home, helping to reduce malnutrition and build appreciation for nutritious foods.
Where we work, we support the creation of libraries and reading spaces in schools and communities. With more time available after the water journey is shortened, children can read, study, and explore new ideas.
Libraries give learners access to books, knowledge, and inspiration. Over time, we envision these schools becoming centres of excellence and hope, where children grow into leaders who care for their environment and communities.
Our work in water, food forests, and regenerative agriculture directly supports climate resilience. Food forests act as carbon sinks, reduce soil erosion, conserve water, and increase biodiversity. We promote agroforestry, plant guilds, and regenerative practices that help communities adapt to changing weather patterns while improving food security and income.
